Most stains we can get out.  We have special, commercial grade solvents that require a three year apprenticeship to know how to handle correctly.  These solvents specifically deal with red wine, chewing gum, ink and so on.  Now we know that nanna means well when she tells you to put salt or talcum powder or whatever on that red wine stain but does she really know what's best for that silk garment that's worth hundreds or even thousands of dollars??

Does she really remove stains from these kinds of garments every single day?  One in a hundred of these remedies might just work but for that one dry cleaning would have worked just as well if not better and you would not have needed to risk damaging your garment further.

The best thing you can do is to dab at the offending spill with a dry paper towel to soak up as much of the stain as possible.  No rubbing!  Bring the garment in to us as soon as possible and rest assured that if we can't get the stain out with our 30 years of experience, commercial grade solvents and latest in dry cleaning technology, that home remedy would not have worked either.

The most common time for us not to be able to remove a stain is when someone has already tried to remove it at home.  Using domestic grade stain removers or other home remedies causes a chemical reaction resulting in a stain that we can no longer remove.
